Technology For Fun

Aimed at 7-14 year olds, Technology for Fun volume 2 introduces children to basic switched electrical circuits, then brings them to life by using them to make 14 fun working models. To keep costs to a minimum, the same electrical components are re-used wherever possible, along with cheap and recycled materials.

Physics for Fun contains instructions for 30 exciting design and build projects made from recycled materials, which help children to understand and discover for themselves as much as possible of the Key Stage 2 and 3 (ages 7-14) physics curriculum.

Caroline Alliston is a professional engineer and technical author with a degree from Cambridge and twenty four years experience in industry. Whilst on a career break to spend more time with her two boys, she started a club at their school to enthuse children about science and engineering. Before long there were more children on the waiting list than in the actual club!

Caroline now spends her time running hugely popular workshops for schools, teachers, home-educated children, holiday clubs, scrapstores, Scouts, Cubs and Beavers. Unable to be in three places at once, she has written the 'Technology for Fun' series of books incorporating her favourite and most successful projects, to give even more children the opportunity to have fun making things that really work. 'Physics for Fun' is the third book in the series, which she hopes will inspire scientists, engineers and technologists of the future.
